Crafting turns wood, stone, crops and animal goods into the materials, food and decorations your kingdom and quests need. Each crafting building uses one of the crafting skills, and you get better at every recipe the more you make it.
The three main crafting buildings

You can only have a few of each (the market shows the limit). Extra copies, like a 4th Workshop, Kitchen or Studio, became available later.
Supplier buildings
These unlock new recipes for a skill and supply your kingdom with a material those recipes need:

Special crafting buildings
- Beastie Laboratory (level 7): crafts items from components of Gloom Beasties.
- Pavilion (level 6): creates parties and party rewards.
- Archery Tent (level 8): crafts arrows for the Archery Tournament.
- Fishery (level 15): lets you gather fish more quickly.
- Fashion House: crafts new clothing for your character. See Your Character.
- Agonia has its own Mountain Workshop, Mountain Kitchen and Mountain Studio.
Recipe mastery
Each recipe has its own mastery meter. Craft it enough and it reaches a new mastery level, with rewards such as crafting it faster next time. In the original game, Mia (who arrives at level 10) brings cooking mastery to your Kitchen, after her Get Cooking quest line.
Crafting skills
Your skills (Forging, Cooking, Artistry and more) level up as you craft. From level 26 you can master a skill. See Crafting Skills.
Tips
- Keep your Workshop busy from day one: planks and bricks are needed everywhere.
- Food from the Kitchen is your best source of extra energy.
- Crafting finishes over time; crowns can finish it instantly.
