Energy, Coins & Crowns
The numbers across the top of the screen are what you spend to grow your kingdom.
Energy ⚡
Almost every action costs energy: chopping a tree, mining a rock, building, banishing a Beastie (1 energy per hit) and helping out around the kingdom.
- It refills by itself: 1 energy every 5 minutes, up to your maximum.
- Your maximum starts at 10 at level 1 and grows as you level up.
- Levelling up refills your energy, so it pays to spend it all just before you level.
- Food from the Kitchen gives energy. Cooking recipes are the game's main way to make your own. See Crafting & Skills.
- Banishing Beasties sometimes drops energy.
- Gifts: neighbors can send you energy as a free gift.
Coins 🪙
Coins pay for most things in the market and for unlocking land.
- Taxes: houses produce coins. Click a house when it's ready to collect.
- Harvests and crafting earn coins too, and so do many quests.
- Selling: many items can be sold from your inventory.
Crowns 👑
Crowns were CastleVille's premium currency. They finish things instantly, unlock items before you reach their level, and buy crown-only items. On L.O.S Castle you can also get them free from the Royal Treasury whenever staff open it (see the FAQ).
Reputation ❤️
Reputation is earned by being a good neighbor: visiting and helping other kingdoms. You can hold up to 100 at a time, so spend it before you reach the cap. Reputation buys reputation-only items in the market and is needed by some quests and recipes.
Wood and stone
The two raw materials of every kingdom. Chop trees for wood and mine rocks for stone. Both cost energy. Crafting buildings turn them into better materials, like planks and bricks.
XP and levels ⭐
Nearly everything you do earns XP. New levels unlock new items, raise your limits (crops, animals, houses) and bring new characters to your kingdom. Each level also has a title: level 1 is Champion of Logging In, level 2 Regal Newbie, level 5 Jubilant Jester. See every level on Levels & Titles.
Castle Level 🏰
Separate from your player level, your Castle Level grows with your castle and the buildings and decorations around it. Exploring new land in the Gloom needs Castle Level points. See Building Your Kingdom.
