Story, Quests & Characters
CastleVille tells its story through characters who arrive in your kingdom, each with their own quest lines. Quests appear as portraits on the left of the screen; click one to see what it needs.
How characters arrive
Some move in as you reach a level, others are found by exploring the Gloom, and a few are rescued on the way. Here are the main ones, in roughly the order you meet them:

| Giovanni | Renaissance Man | Reach level 14 |
| Eva | The Elven Trader | Reach level 14 |
| Ben | The Gentle Giant | Reach level 15 and explore |

Quest lines
Each character's story comes in quest lines that unlock one after another, usually with a level requirement. A few examples:
- Yvette: Talk to the Animals → Nature Lover → Training (level 10) → Lovelorn (level 14) → A Father's Love (level 22).
- George: Breaking the Ice (level 7) → All in the Mine (level 10) → A Pet For George (level 14).
- Rafael: Stranger in the Gloom → Good Times (level 10) → Love in the Time of Gloom (level 18) → Adventure Club (level 26).
- Alastair: The Search for Alastair → The Great Hall → The Gloom Lord.

Story worlds
Beyond your kingdom lie story worlds with their own characters and quests. On L.O.S Castle you can play Agonia (with King Aren, Queen Lifa and many more), the Fairy Realm, and Return to Jacque, where you meet Jacque the Pirate.
